day 7

so today was our last day here :/

to make our last day special, alex's grandparents took us out to lunch at this really cool restaurant called wong kei. and after that, we spent the day walking around in chinatown, taking in the fresh london air for the last time.

the time to go to the airport came too soon.

all of the people here are so polite and nice, and the trip was definitely worth saving up a year's allowance. this was an experience i could never forget, and i would definitely come back someday, whether it's with my boyfriend, my kids, or my family.

but i'm homesick. i miss my parents, and my friends, and my pets.

day 6

well since yesterday, our trip continued to go down hill. :(

we drove an hour to canterbury. we decided to try and go ghost hunting at an old church, but we found out it was shut down.

so we ended up going to a pizza hut. we spent about $20 on pizza and drinks for all of us.

today was really boring, and we couldn't find anything to do really in canterbery besides finding places to eat. so we decided to drive back to london. we stopped on the way to see a free benefit show at the greenwich park.

it included bands such as asking alexandria and enter shikari that jazmyn and i just happened to like. we found out they're from york. the show was really sweet and we got to talk to them after for awhile.

tonight, we are sitting by the fire drinking tea and talking with alex's grandparents about the origins of their hometowns. i didn't realize i'd learn so much history by coming here.

day 5

york was really interesting. but me and gi are looking for more funner things to do. so we headed out on a trip two hours and thirteen minutes to birmingham.

we decided to go to a museum & art gallery. unfortunately, gi had a little too much coffee this morning and   knocked over a statue. the scene attracted a lot of people along with security and the museum manager. we had to pay $200 for the damages. -______- i was really mad.

to get our minds off the situation, we went to a 18 and under club called gatecrasher. we met a couple of people and exchanged numbers. so the night turned out okay. we spent $15 on drinks.

today was a really long day so i'm going to sleep. hopefully tomorrow will turn out better.

day 4

today we woke up early yet again for another long drive to york. it takes about four hours, here is the route we're taking.

we decided to go to clifford's tower. it's really old and is part of the fortification in york. it was only $3.50 for tickets, so we spent $7.00 all together for a tour. niceeeee. it was cool to see that this was where so much history happened. after the castle, we went to cafe concerto to go get tea.

we also got those berry tarts seen above. they were so good, and definitely worth the $35 we spent.

our drive back was really boring, but i was stoked on getting home and eating more of the roasted potatoes and stringbeans alex's grandparents made us every night. :)

tomorrow we're going to an art museum and boy, am i excited!

goodnight.

day 3

i just got back from stonehenge a couple of hours ago. it was really interesting and had a lot of historical background to it.

when we drove up, we first saw this weird rock structure. we took a tour that costed $14.00 for the both of us. we found out it was the ancient stone circle that was created between 3,000 BC and 1,600 BC.
it supposedly aligns with the midsummer sunrise and the midwinter sunset, but no one really knows what it was used for or what religious meaning it had.
luckily it wasn't that crowded. the tour guide told us it gets very crowded in the summer.
Stonehenge, Stonehenge, Stonehenge Must See Activity, photo, picture, image

after the tour, we ate at a place called the da vinci italian restaurant. gianna got egglant parm and i got penne with a blush vodka sauce. it was probably the best italian food we've had in a while for an excellent price ♥

today was a fun-filled day, and we spent a total amount of $125. not bad :) well now i'm off to sleep, let's see what tomorrow brings us.

day 2

jazmyn and i have been in london for a few hours. we're going to go shopping on new oxford street where there are so many stores that i just love.

we visited my favorite store, urban outfitters. i spent about $100 on a dress and a top that i liked.

jazmyn spent about $50 dollars on moccasins that she really seemed to enjoy.

after shopping,  we realized that we had to get gas. the gas stations in the rural areas that we were visiting wouldn't accept US money, so we spent $1500 on a prepaid gas card that would be accepted anywhere we went.

so we went back to alex's grandparents house for a home cooked english meal. :) it was roast lamb, but i'm a vegetarian so i ate the peas and the potatoes.

i ended my night by playing zelda and laying in bed. i'm going to bed early so we can head out to stonehenge tomorrow. i'm excited!

day 1

gianna and I are really excited to go to England for 7 days and 6 nights. we are staying at my boyfriend’s grandparent’s house to save money. we saved up $5000 last year. I am very hopeful that this trip will be worth it.
the rental car and the flying fees totaled up to $1815.12, and we have $3184.88 left to spend. we are supposed to arrive in London around 7:30 AM, so that gives us a lot of time to explore.
our flight's about to board, i'll post later. byeee
